Just had to share this with you..

Today I've attended my very first Life Drawing class! I've always thought "life drawing" meant drawing things from life, realistic things, you know? Turns out, naive as I am, it's all about drawing naked people...! So, this evening I've been staring at a naked man for about two hours, trying to do him justice on my little sheet of paper. I haven't really seen that many naked people in my life, but surprisingly it wasn't all that awkward. Everyone else was staring at him too, anyway. And when you get into the spirit of drawing, it's really all about abstract shapes fitted together. You have to look at it like lines and shadows, not arms and legs.

So there you go, my first real academic experience, evolving a naked man. And this was all of my own initiative. I'm trying to do as much as I can outside of school, and take advantage of all the magnificent things London has to offer. Have to say I quite liked the class (nothing to do with the lack of clothing), and the drawing practice will be extremely helpful as we are starting life drawing classes at the College as well. I can feel my creative brain cells starting to stir in my head already.
